I first went to Rome in 2007. It was super hot when I was there, and I didn’t feel like walking around much. This time, I walked, walked, walked. I wasn’t sure when, if ever, I’d be back.
I also visited nearly every shop with vegan gelato in the city. That alone is worth the trip!
My first night, I walked around a bunch, saw the musical fountain, and enjoyed whomever has been making art from the ‘do not enter’ signs around Rome.
The next day, I saw the Coliseum again. It never ceases to amaze me.
I discovered a small cafe that had recently opened, called Universo Vegano. Check them out! Super friendly, really delicious, and not expensive.
This was a short operation, based around getting back to the Vatican via Rome, but the gelato blitz I laid across that town made me super happy.
