I’ll be honest: we really weren’t expecting much from Amsterdam. All of our friends asked, “Since you guys don’t smoke weed, why are you going to Amsterdam?”
Turns out, Amsterdam is awesome, and we loved it!
Our first morning, we took a canal cruise, which was fun.
Then, we found TerraZen. Rastafarian meets Japanese food. We ate there multiple times.
We also stumbled on Candy Freaks, which specializes in vegan candy, and Copa, which has the best soccer (football!) stuff.
Then, we headed to the Anne Frank house. It was intense. Tip: buy your tickets online in advance. Everyone who just ‘showed up’ on the day we went got turned away.
We walked along the canals, which are awesome, and over to the museum.
Photo op at the famous (I Am)sterdam sign out back, of course.
Just walking through Amsterdam was super enjoyable.
We had a really weird experience at dinner that night, where the waitress at the restaurant kept making out with her boyfriend, ignoring the customers. Weird and weird.
The next day, we took the bus to a tour of the Ajax stadium.
From there, we went through this park to find a windmill that someone still lives in. We even saw him come home on his lunch break to feed the ducks. What a guy!
And more walking around that night, with dinner at TerraZen again.
We spent our last morning walking along the canals again. Amsterdam is a great city. We had no idea! 3 full days wasn’t enough.
