In June 2012, I took a giant road trip from Germany down through the former Yugoslavia and over to Monaco in the west over the course of 3 weeks. I mostly slept in my car, getting a hostel or hotel every few nights for a shower. It was incredible, and I saw lots of new places.
From Germany down through Austria, through Vienna, I entered my first new country of the trip: across a bridge into Bratislava, Slovakia. I walked around the city for a bit without any real plans and then drove out to the countryside.
For me, the most interesting part was seeing an active nuclear plant in the middle of Slovakia. Not something you see every day on a road trip.
I didn’t spend a lot of time in Slovakia, because the place I really wanted to spend the next 2 days was across the border in Hungary.
