After exiting Montenegro and crossing into Bosnia-Herzegovina, it was getting late, and I knew I wouldn’t make it to Sarajevo that evening. I was passing a beautiful lake near Bileca and parked there in a great hidden spot to sleep in the car again, away from traffic or any police who might bang on the window and tell me not to sleep there.
The next morning, I was up pretty early from the sun shining in the windows and off to Sarajevo. I’d been interested in seeing what the “Olympic host turned war-torn” city looked like and incredibly allowed my phone to die during the night and didn’t think to check it/charge it on the drive.
I’m still kicking myself for having no pictures of Sarajevo, but it actually looked a lot better than expected. They’ve done considerable rebuilding, though people told me you could still see bullet holes in walls some places. I didn’t happen to see any, though.
